The aim of this large series of shaped canvas paintings is to explore variations of black against four shades of grey, ranging from 100% to 80% in 5% increments, using monochromes.
Through subtle shifts in tone and geometry, the works investigate perception, seriality, and the tension between uniformity and difference.
The shaped supports further disrupt the neutrality of the monochrome, introducing a spatial and architectural dimension that engages the viewer’s movement and gaze.
This project is made in collaboration with the French artist Jacques Herrmann.
